Series of 6 “Treasure Map” Flash Animations
This was a series of ‘Flash’ animations that we made for BrandMuscle and Northern Ohio Print to put on a landing page in what was a very advanced marketing campaign where each person was given a ‘PURL’ or personalized uniform resource locator–a high tech way to seriously track your marketing dollars.
BrandMuscle was kind enough to give us the original artwork, and from there the work began with instructions to ‘animate’ the ’scenes’ in the treasure map. Here is what we came up with in the end: (to see it larger, closer to as it was intended to be displayed, click here to see the SERIES.)
So over a series of 6 months, these key decision makers would get an email, with special news and a link to visit the new landing page that would be the continuation of the series.
Just imagine the exciting ideas that alternatively be developed using a similar approach as this ‘over-time’. All that has to be done is some thought to a creative concept that lends itself to any given client.
Month: 3 This was a challenge as I had to create the ‘chin’ which didn’t exist in the original and then parent it into the main animation–and then mask it which proved to be something that Flash did not want to do while making it a true ‘vector’ form. Too much technical talk, here it is: (to see it larger click here.)
Month: 4 Surprisingly the client loved this one.
Month: 5 One of my favorites, aestetically at least, to see it larger click here.
Month 6: they finally reach the ‘Treasure’! Hey, what about converting these to a game? Too see it larger, click here.
